WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PVC WINDOWS AND UPVC WINDOWS?

PVC is not used for window frames, although some manufacturers may use “PVC” to refer to their uPVC windows. Instead, uPVC (unplasticized polyvinyl chloride) is used for window frames, as it is weather-resistant and does not decompose. On the other hand, PVC (polyvinyl chloride) is not suitable for window frames because it decomposes over time, especially when exposed to sunlight.

WHAT IS THE LIFE EXPECTANCY OF UPVC WINDOWS?

Their lifespan can range between 10 to 35 years, but generally, they tend to last around 20 years, provided that they are of good quality and properly maintained. If your uPVC windows were installed in 2000 or around that time, it’s possible that they may require some repairs or replacement by now.

What material is used for the Residence Collection?

Residence 7 windows are manufactured together using the latest PVCu. As well as being an excellent insulating material, durable, customisable, and secure, it’s also fully recyclable.

What is the difference between Residence 7 and Residence 9 window frames?

Both offer excellent energy performance and a variety of colours options. But the main difference is that Residence 9 windows have nine chambers compared to the seven found in Residence 7 windows, making them slightly more thermally efficient. Residence 7 have a narrower profile, but a wider variety of corner join and colour options. Residence 7 also has a fully flush profile on the inside and outside, whilst Residence 9 only has a flush appearance on the exterior.
